First off according to the dictionary joy is the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying. It’s a source or cause of keen pleasure or delight; something or someone you greatly valued or appreciate. It’s the expression or display of glad feelings, a state of happiness.
Scripture tells us that joy comes from the Lord. That’s is delighting in Him and all He has done for you. Joy is a choice. We get to choose how we are going to react to situations, people, and all the other things we come across in this life. I have included in this article some of my favorite scriptures on Joy and made this post easy for you to print so you can put these scriptures in an area where you can read them several times a day. The best way to choose Joy is to focus on the source of our Joy.

A common theme this time of year, but how do you have a attitude of gratitude if everything in your life seems to be coming apart? How exactly do we “count it all joy” like it says in
James 1:2-4 KJV
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:2-4 KJV
This is something I have personally been grappling with since we were involved in a auto accident in 2005 that left me disabled and bedridden for twelve years. I fully believe, with everything in me that God means what He says in Romans 8:28 NIV.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 NIV

It was just an ordinary day on a small family farm in Louisiana, chores had to be done, farm animals had to be tended to, and everyone was busy going about their responsibilities. Just another day, nothing spectacular or exciting until… Continue reading “The day I ROCKED the World”
What is Purpose?
“Having a sense of purpose is having a sense of self. A course to plot is a destination to hope for.” ―Bryant H. McGill
According to the Dictionary:
- the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.”the purpose of the meeting is to appoint a trustee”
- motive, motivation, grounds, cause, impetus, occasion, reason, point, basis, justification “the main purpose of his visit”
- have as one’s intention or objective.”God has allowed suffering, even purposed it”
- intend, mean, aim, plan, design, have the intention, have in mind, have a mind
Purpose can guide life decisions, influence behavior, shape goals, offer a sense of direction and create meaning. For some people, the purpose is connected to vocation—meaningful, satisfying work. For others, their purpose lies in their responsibilities to their family or friends.
